Between the Sheets: Gina Ciancio of Style Curator

Gina Ciancio runs the very successful Style Curator blog, our go-to place for a dose of style and practical advice for the home. Since starting the blog a few years ago, Gina has grown it into an award winning hub of inspiration for creating a home you love. We love her simple, clean and modern aesthetic and were very excited for the chance to have a chat with her about all things sleep.

How did Style Curator come about?

I started Style Curator four years ago – it’s a home improvement and styling blog with lots of fun DIY tutorials, styling tips, reno projects and more.

The inspiration to start came shortly before we knocked down our old house to build new. I wanted to document the journey and share my inspiration and ideas for the new house. While I was at it, I thought it would be fun to create an online hub where I could also share latest products for the home, profiles of emerging artists and small business, and so much more. It’s really taken off and now the blog is my full-time job – I love it!

Where's the most memorable place you've woken up?

Ohh tough question! I’ve had some really good and really bad experiences, haha. I’d probably say the most memorable though was at our home when my son was a newborn sleeping in our room – I loved to wake up and see him in his cot right next to me. I’ll treasure those memories always.

Describe the best sleep you've ever had.

Definitely when you stay at an amazing hotel and they have those insanely good pillows and sheets. It’s like you melt into the bed and I’ve never slept better.

What's the first thing you do when you open your eyes in the morning?

I’m usually woken up by my son – he’ll come into our room and jump on our bed. Best way to start the day.

What's the last thing you do before you go to sleep?

It’s terrible but I’m usually on Instagram, I’m obsessed!

If you could choose anywhere in the world to sleep, where would it be?

I’ve been lucky enough to stay in some pretty amazing places but it’s been a while since I last travelled so I’m itching to go again. Lately I’ve been following travel bloggers on Instagram and loving photos from Mexico so perhaps that would be next?

What would we find on your bedside table?

At the moment, my son has taken it over with toy trucks and books but before he was walking and spreading his stuff all over the house, it had some framed photos, vase of flowers, trivets for jewellery, and other pieces which you can see here.

What's one thing that makes you Sleep Good?

A clear mind. When I have too much going on in my head, I cannot sleep no matter what I try.

What's one thing that makes you Feel Good?

It’s always the small things. Time with friends and family, fresh sheets, belly laughs, pampering, things like that.

What's one thing that makes you Live Good?

Decluttering. I hate to feel overwhelmed with ‘stuff’ and always find simplifying the things we have makes life better.
