Well, these are it! We’ve taken the best aspects of the cool, crisp and sturdy percale of decades past and created a modern take on a tried-and-true classic. Specially woven just for us, using top quality thicker yarn and lower thread count in a simple, timeless percale weave - tight and durable, not stretchy or drapey, and won't fluff up or pill.
The result? Heirloom-quality percale sheets which are cool and crisp, the kind that snap when you fold them. A little bit stiff, and yes, a bit wrinkly but oh, so wonderfully smooth and comfortable.
Made from 100% good quality long-staple GOTS certified organic cotton, and with Oeko-Tex certification you can be sure you’re sleeping without harmful chemicals.

Yes, 100% cotton sheets will wrinkle - that's how you know it's real cotton. We do not blend with synthetics, or apply "easy care" treatments which often use harmful, formaldehyde-based chemicals. This was common in the past - we chose to prioritise comfort and a healthy sleep instead, and the wrinkles reduce with use. See our Care Guide for tips on how to minimise wrinkling.
What not to expect:
- Very thick sheets.
Percale is generally lightweight. We made ours thicker and heavier, the way percale used to be - so if your ideal sheet is cool, crisp and smooth with a bit of weight, you're in the right place. If thickness is your primary criterion, you'll be better served by low thread count muslin-weave sheets or a high thread count sateen. Learn about percale. - Silky softness.
Percale is crisp, not soft, and is known for having a 'break in' period. It softens over time but retains a crisp, structured feel, like a button up shirt.
Care
Wash your good sheets before first use to remove any dust and residues and to help shrink them down to their final size.
Machine wash separately in cool to warm water with a small quantity of good quality detergent. Line dry in shade or tumble dry on low heat.
For longevity, avoid fabric softeners, chlorine bleach and high heat.
Wrinkling
Percale does wrinkle - a small price to pay for comfort! Wrinkling will subside with use. Iron if desired, or spritz with some water and smooth out by hand.

Shrinkage
All cotton shrinks after washing, especially in hot water. Shrinkage of up to 2% is expected - but don't worry! We oversize our sheets to account for this to ensure a good fit.

Frequently Asked Questions
Our sheets have the signature feel of classic percale - crisp, smooth, and cool to the touch. Rather than silky or drapey, they offer a fresh, breathable finish often associated with traditional hotel bedding.
Our quality cotton percale fabric relaxes with washing and use, becoming more comfortable over time while retaining its structured, breathable character rather than turning silky or limp. Thicker yarns give it structure and durability for comfort which lasts.
Our fitted sheets are designed to suit modern mattress depths. Single, King Single and Double come in a 40cm depth, Queen and King in 40 or 50cm depth, and Super King in 50cm. We recommend measuring your mattress height (including any topper) to ensure the right fit - your fitted sheet wall needs to be at least 8cm greater than the height of your mattress.
All cotton fabrics experience a small amount of natural shrinkage after the first few washes. Our sheets are intentionally sized to allow for this, so they achieve their intended fit once laundered.
To minimise excessive shrinkage, we recommend washing in cool to warm water and avoiding high heat in the dryer.
“Heavyweight” is used in the context of percale. Compared to most modern percale fabrics, ours are woven with thicker yarns to create a more substantial, structured feel while remaining breathable and crisp.
They are heavier than typical percale, but not heavy in the traditional sense of dense or bulky fabrics.
